Name: Jeremy S.
Music Instrument(s) Taught: Bass, Drumset, Guitar, Percussion, Piano
Location: NE Fremont and Sandy
My journey with playing music began 19 years ago at the age of 10, when I joined my Elementary school band playing percussion. Throughout Middle School and High School, I played in the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble, routinely earning the rank of first chair. At the age of 12 that I picked up a guitar, and became enamored with the instrument, learning every style that I possibly could, from blues to jazz, to heavy metal. In High School, I played guitar and bass in the Jazz Ensemble, earning the prestigious Louis Armstrong Jazz Award in my senior year. For the past 11 years, I have been performing live and recording with various groups locally and abroad, as well as teaching for the past three years. While much of my playing centers on the genres of Rock, Blues, Shred and Metal, I am also knowledgeable in playing Jazz, Funk, Folk and Country. I am highly knowledgeable in music theory and several advanced guitar techniques, and happy to teach all levels of players, from beginners to seasoned pros. As an instructor, I believe that it is important to establish a vision with a student to better create a curriculum that best suits their desires for learning. As a whole, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge of music through guitar, bass, drums and piano, and I strive to share the joy that I have experienced playing music with all of my students.
