Music Instrument(s) Taught: Bass, Guitar, Piano, Trumpet
Music has always been a source of inspiration throughout my life. Some of my earliest memories include sitting in front of my parent’s stereo system listening to The Beatles. Growing up, my parents helped me get in to after-school music programs, where I began to realize my passion for music. I am proficient in music theory and have taught students on campus who needed help in the course.
I’ve been playing trumpet for 12 years and bass guitar for 8 years. I also play guitar and piano. I’ve performed and recorded with a number of groups at several venues and studios around Oregon. Now I’d like to take what I’ve learned and share my experience with aspiring musicians.
I’ve completed four years majoring in contemporary music at Western Oregon University. During my time there I performed with the Western Hemisphere Orchestra as the soloist chair. I also performed with the Western Hemisphere Combo, Jazz Repertoire Combo, Guitar Ensemble, Singer-Songwriter Combo, and the Orquestra Brasil. In my experience, everyone learns in their own individual way. I like to take time to get to know each student, so I can become familiar with what their interests and goals are. I develop programs that match well with students needs, and encourage them to reach their goals. Kylan teaches Trumpet, Bass Guitar, Acoustic/Electric Guitar, Piano.
Kylan is currently accepting new students.
