music for over 20 years. He graduated from University of Oregon with a B.A. in music and has been teaching for over 10 years. In addition to teaching, he currently
plays in several professional bands in the Portland area.
His primary focus is guitar, both acoustic and electric, with an emphasis in jazz, blues & rock, and a strong understanding of country, old time, bluegrass, reggae,
Indian/world music and pop. He also has skills in ukulele, bass, piano, voice, drum set, and music technology/recording techniques.
Tate loves to teach people of all ages and skill levels and can be as relaxed or enthusiastic as each student requires. Once a basic foundation on the instrument is
built, he tailors his lessons and curriculum to the particular styles and interests of each student to ensure that they’ll be playing the music that they truly love.
Tate is currently not accepting new students.
