Beautiful Guitar Music Part 1

One of the goals at the Musicality Network is to help students of all ages learn to create beautiful music. Something that is helpful in this process is to give examples of inspirational musicians and show some of their music. Today we are going to look at one of my favorites, a singer/songwriter by the name of Dallas Green, the leader of a band called “City and Colour” (Dallas=City, Greene=Colour)

Dallas has excellent rhythm and wholeness on the Guitar. He is literally able to carry the whole song on his Guitar, no other instruments at all. To someone not trained musically this may not seem difficult. It is very difficult. As well as maintaining consistent time, he is able to modify his Guitar nuances, and incorporate elements such as finger picking and muting. Add to this the fact that he has a beautiful voice, and he is performing this live – not as a chopped and produced studio piece, and you have a fine example of musicianship.
